R&D: Taking your idea to market

Applied cooperative research for customers from all over Europe is part of our daily business. In the past years, newly added research capacity has established ofi as one of the leading creative powerhouses in Austria.

We focus on providing answers to practice-oriented questions while collaborating closely with our clients, business partners and with universities. Our fully integrated project management services include idea engineering, acquisition of public funds and the product market entry. We always strive to leverage synergies between our clients’ technology and our own R&D experience. The results are new or enhanced products, processes and services with immediate market potential.

We conduct research. Example: Adhesive technology for trains.

The construction of locomotives, trains, trams and subways would come to a grinding halt without adhesive technology. Adhesives are used in several aspects of rail technology, including windows and driver’s consoles. ofi has conducted extensive research on the lifespan of adhesive bonds and has thus provided manufacturers with important knowledge with immediate relevance for specific applications.

We develop. Example: Plasticine for toolboxes.

ofi developed Rammizam® for the company Expert-Werkzeug GmbH. This new polyurethane-based two-component material is liquid at first and congeals during processing while retaining its shape. It won’t stick and thus allows tools to be stored and arranged individually.
